Rand Farm Park

Following some cancelled plans due to storm Eunice, we were thrilled to get out to Rand Farm Park, our first time here. The weather was still terrible with a downpour of sleet at one point but we still had a good time with plenty to do despite the weather. I can see this would be a much better day out in the summer with a big playground, carts to ride etc so would definitely return. However, it is still worth a visit when it is raining.

Toddler area of soft play

The soft play area is really big and kept all three happy including our 10 year old. There was a specific toddler area which ours liked but also wanted to be off playing with his brother and sister in the older section! Another hit was the air canon area. I wouldn’t have wanted our little one to get hit by the flying balls in this area so this was a good one for the older two when it was nap time. It was a fairly quiet day, they even had the air canon area to themselves at one point! This may have been due to the weather.

There was a full timetable with times for tractor rides, small animal handling and lamb bottle feeding repeated throughout the day (archery wasn’t on due to the wind!). We enjoyed all these. My daughter was a little disappointed she couldn’t be in with the lambs rather than standing at the side. The animal handling went down really well. We did this twice and saw chicks, rabbits, and guinea pigs.

There was a café you could buy and eat food. We bought sandwiches for ourselves and for children they had a meal deal type box with sandwich, yoghurt, crisps etc. This was all absolutely fine but we realised while there that there is a good indoor area to which you can take your own food and eat there which we would have done if we’d known as the cost of getting in (approximately £50) plus food and drinks did add up. There were also selling various hot foods.
