Woodside Wildlife Park

We had a nice time at Woodside Wildlife Park at the weekend. Unfortunately it was freezing when we arrived and there was a lot of sleet coming down! We went straight to the covered area where you could eat your own food as we’d brought a picnic. This was fine although cold and they didn’t have any high chairs. There was a really nice outdoor area to eat food which would have been lovely to sit on a better day. Thankfully, the sun came out after lunch! We spent a couple of hours looking around all the animals. We particularly liked seeing the Siberian Lynx and the crocodiles!

We watched the penguins being fed while the staff gave a talk which was good. There were other talks and animal feeding sessions which we didn’t manage to attend. The children enjoyed the outdoor play area which was a good one so we spent quite a bit of time there. There was a nice looking café serving drinks and yummy looking treats which we didn’t get around to trying. I quickly nipped in another area which had a sand play area which looked great.

In the end, we decided to get going quite early to encourage a car nap as our toddler hadn’t napped and he was far too interested in the animals when we tried to get him to sleep in the buggy! Without this issue we definitely could have stayed longer for a play in the sandpit area, a drink in the café, to attend a couple more of the talks/feeding sessions, so although it felt fairly expensive for two hours, we didn’t make use of everything there. It’s not far from Lincoln so we went there afterwards. You could definitely combine the two.
