The children love a day out at Cleethorpes! We just went for the afternoon after lunch and parked near Thorpe caravan park and walked from there which is a lovely walk (pram suitable path) from which you can see the sea. Half of it is for cyclists so you could also bike along here. You can walk all the way to the beach but this time we caught the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway steam train from the Lakeside station. To get to it you walk around the boating lake on your right and then go straight ahead to the station.

We got a single ticket as we wanted the exercise walking back and it cost £17 for the five of us. Trains were quite regular so we only had five minutes to wait. Our toddler was very excited to say the least! It was a lovely ride and when we got off we got straight onto the land train to the Pier which was a further £6 for the four of us (our toddler was free). The land train is known as the lollipop train as children are offered a lollipop!

It was time for ice creams after this and there are quite a few ice cream shops to choose from along here. Then we went down onto the beach and the kids had a great time playing in the sand. We had it to ourselves! The weather was nice with a warm breeze. We finished the day with a walk back to the car and we could see people kite surfing on the way which was different!
