Afternoon tea at Healing Manor, Healing

This was a really great afternoon tea! It was a bit different as it has a seaside theme. There was a lot of food, very generous portions. It came out in two courses, savoury and then sweet. The savoury course included a miniature fish and chips with tartare sauce presented on a shell, and homemade sausage rolls. One of my friends had the vegetarian option which she was happy with.

Savoury course of afternoon tea for two

The sweet course came out separately and had the usual scones with jam and clotted cream and cakes but it had a little twist too with some candy floss and a cheesecake which looked like an ice cream cone. This was my favourite! It was £20 per person and this seemed excellent value. Cups of tea or coffee were topped up when we asked. The coffee was good and they were able to supply decaf tea. I thought the presentation was lovely and their attention to detail was really good. It was served on pretty plates and cups and saucers, my mum would like this!

The room we ate in was nice. They had a table decorated for a baby shower next to us. A good place to go for a special occasion. Doors opened out into the attractive garden and they had tables and chairs outside too where you could also eat. As well as the hotel and restaurant, you can also book weddings here. It looks like a lovely location for one.
