We had a lovely day out at Ark Wildlife Park. I only had my 2 and 8 year old with me and we met some family there. Friends have recently told me about the ‘kids pass’ app which is available on the app store. They have a 30-day free trial for £1 so I signed up and this gave us a free visit for my eight year old and under 3s were free so this was fantastic value for money! We also got a pass to return in either November or March for free.

It was lunch time when we arrived and we had taken a picnic so we ate that at a covered outdoor picnic table near the playground and then the children enjoyed a play. The playground was good fun for the kids, my toddler particularly loved the tractor themed play equipment. After this we looked around all the animals. The animals here have been rescued and you can read some of their stories around the park. There are a wide variety including wallabies, snakes, and bobcats!

They have a small soft play there for under 9s so we spent some time in there. We had a cup of tea from the cafe and some further time in the playground. We then realised we’d missed a whole section through a gate which was the dinosaur area! There were more animals to see through here too including artic foxes as well as animatronic dinosaurs. My toddler was pretty scared of these but the other children liked them. The walk took you around a lake.

We finished with a play in another play area in a barn. The children over 3 were given a task of collecting six stamps from various stations as they went around the park. When they had handed this in, they were given a small dinosaur toy which they were pleased with. Although it wasn’t a huge place, we felt there was plenty to do and we didn’t get chance to fit the animal talks in. A really enjoyable day out.
