This was our first trip ‘behind the garden wall’ at Uncle Henry’s. Uncle Henry’s is a cafe and farm shop in Gainsborough which also has a great playground area. On Tuesdays it has a small soft play type area Tiny Tots which is nice to visit if you have a little one (probably most suited for one and two year olds) for a play and coffee or lunch. Their cheese and plum bread on the breakfast menu is delicious!

Uncle Henry’s has various events that happen ‘behind the garden wall’ depending on the time of year. When we went in September on a school day (with a friend and our preschoolers) it only cost £5 for adults with under 5s being free. They had garden games, mini golf and a fairy trail through the woods. There were lots of things for the kids to look at. My little one was a bit scared of the troll near the bridge though!

We also had a wander around the maize maze and a look at the sunflowers (although they were past their best by then!). We had another play in the playground and then went to the cafe for lunch. I went for the pulled pork sandwich which was a very hearty portion. It also has a lovely giftshop that sells quite a bit.
