Pink Pig Farm at Christmas

This was our second time at Pink Pig Farm. The first time we went was in the summer and we had a great time and knew we’d come again. This time, as well as coming to meet friends and use all the facilities, we also arranged to see Father Christmas. Our tickets for all five of us were £74. We got there quite early and went straight to the Christmas experience. We were greeted at the door by an elf who stamped their ‘elf passport’. It was quiet and we didn’t have to queue for long to see Santa. There was an area to queue with Christmas trees and we had been given 3D glasses which showed little snowmen or Santa where the lights were around the trees. When we got to the front to a red door, we were greeted by Mrs Claus who gave each child a gold coin which was to be exchanged for a gift later. We were let in to a cute area with Santa on a sleigh and room for the kids to sit in front which made for a nice photo opportunity.

Santa asked the kids what they wanted for Christmas and reminded them to leave him a snack and drink. Following this, they could pick a toy from the toy area with the help of another elf. The little one was delighted with the tractor he picked and the other two went for soft toys. I felt like there could have been slightly more options for the older ones. After this, we went to the hut near the zip wire where the kids could decorate a gingerbread person each with icing and either smarties or jellybeans which they really enjoyed. They also got to make their own reindeer food to take home for Christmas Eve with the help of another elf.

We spent the rest of the time here playing and seeing friends. Since it was a very cold day we spent a lot of the time inside in the soft play area. Outside they enjoyed a ride on the little karts, zip wires and time playing football. We brought some sandwiches but purchased good coffee and yummy cakes from the cafe. Before we left, the children (there were eight in our group) had fun playing in the role play area. I thought the day out was good value for £74 which included the children’s gifts. We’ve been to more expensive Santa visits in the past which have had more authentic looking and sounding Santa and Mrs Claus and more elaborative activities. Overall though, it was an enjoyable day and good value.

  2. […] Another favourite in the area. Typical of a farm park Pink Pig has a soft play area, cafe, outdoor play things including a sandy area and somewhere to play football, and animals to visit. I also like the indoor role play area which is good in poorer weather although better for younger children. They have a ‘Christmas experience’ in the winter, you can read about our visit for this here. […]
